It's official!!! I'm registered!

Just got my registration back from the Washington State Department of Agriculture!  I'm officially an Apiarist and am good up to 5 hives.  Got the nifty registration number and a state-seal stamped letter.  Pretty exciting stuff!

If you're a new beekeeper in Washington like me, you probably should register your hive.  It's only $5 for one to five hives and that covers you for a year.  If for some reason some mean person (like my next door neighbor) decides to turn you in and you're not registered, you can get a big nasty fine and maybe even have to destroy your hive.  I didn't want to risk it.  My neighbors suck and turn all the neighbors in for anything they can find.  They even went as far as hiring an inspector and lawyer to stop another neighbor from adding a garage to his house (thank god they weren't successful).
