Soon to be beekeeper in Raleigh, NC

As the title says I'm a soon to be new beekeeper in Raleigh, NC. As you can also see my name is Jason. Beekeeping has been an interest of mine for a couple years now. I was just looking on the internet reading about honey for some reason, and I discovered a web site talking about backyard beekeeping. I thought, hey, that seems neat, so I looked into it further. Everything about honey bees just felt right to me, so I bought some books, read about it all, and I was hooked. What wonderful animals they are! When I was a kid and we went to the local museum I would sit and stare at the observation beehive they had until my parents would pull me away. Looking back it seems like I was always destined to have honey bees. Nothing makes me happier than seeing a picture of some nice honeycomb covered in honey bees, and soon I'll have my own honeycombs covered in my own bees. How exciting.
My first two bee packages should be arriving in May. Tomorrow I'm attending a beginning beekeeping workshop being held by the Wake County Beekeepers Association, and I can't wait.
My sister is into saltwater aquariums and has her own store, she's always telling people that once you get started in saltwater it will suck you in and you'll become obsessed with it. I can already tell that beekeeping is the same way. There is just so much to learn and do with bees. This is going to be a great spring and summer!
I'm very happy to have found this forum.
