I'm planning a trip to Florida in May. I'm coming from the Chicago area. I playing around with Microsoft Streets and Trips and can't seem to find a way to drive through the Smoky Mountains short of adding 3-4 hours to my drive time to head East to Smoky Mountain National Park. Is there a route any locals or truck drivers might be aware of that isn't quite so far East and allows me to avoid Atlanta as I head south? My original route sends me through Nashville but since I'm not really sure of where the mountains are in relation to Nashville...
Really all we want to do is drive up in those mountains on our way and stop here and there to give our cameras a good work out!!
I know this is an off the wall question but we do have 26 Beemaster members in Tennessee so I thought it would be worth a shot...
Thanks in advance!
