Ann, now I am thinking back even harder.  I think that you are right, yep, that whirring/brrrrrring sound I hear is heard in the hot, dry days surely, that is the weather that I remember hearing it.  I am remembering that because I hear it when I am down near the corn patch and that usually means if I am down there that I am doing something in the corn patch.  Hmmm...maybe picking corn.  Late August.

this year I am on a mission to find out where this sound actually comes from.  I have tried to find the whereabouts before, but it seemed to be everywhere.  Well, it probably is, there is probably lots of these insects, I will never find them.  Thinking back, I don't think that there are lots of them.  It seems that the sound comes from nearer the ravine.  Oh brother.  Now I am simply confusing myself.  Forget this for now, I will have my agenda later on this summer and I will be on the search for this bug!!!!  Have the beautiful, awesome day.  Cindi
