.....The greatest changes occur in their country without their cooperation. They are not even aware of precisely what has taken place. They suspect it; they have heard of the event by chance. More than that, they are unconcerned with the fortunes of their village, the safety of their streets, the fate of their church and its vestry. They think that such things have nothing to do with them, that they belong to a powerful stranger called “the government.” They enjoy these goods as tenants, without a sense of ownership, and never give a thought to how they might be improved.....

At 600 m the pressure must be incredible, however.  What a strange creature!  Life is truly incredible!

To me it looks like a deformed shark.  If this is the only one ever seen how do they know it isn't some kind of diseased shark or some kind of weird breading instead of a prehistoric shark?

True, and how do they know is stays at 600 m deep, they must have studdied them if there is such a thing, or them are a lot stories being told Wink

I think there was something mentioned about they have been seen, just never alive I think. There was something some where about another weird looking shark that stays down in deep water and is rarely seen.
