Geoff:
I wanted to pat Ken on the back for his recent study of Ventrilo installation, OS-10 Mac users now can access Ventrilo and communicate with members. Buzzbee is our GURU of Ventrilo (not trying to make work for him) but he sure has been a blessing - again, our Moderator staff is truly a great aide to the members and they deserve recognition for their wonderful efforts.

We apologize, but due to overwhelming demand, we are not currently performing installations in your area.I think that is a polite wat to say I live too far out in the boondocks Just sent them an email on what it takes to become an installer Verizons been giving a similar promise on DSL for years.

I had the same problem,Only we have a small local owned telephone company that hasn't upgraded poles or line since the 60's.They are going to upgrade the repeaters in the system and sell dsl service but i'm told with the old wiring will not get you good dsl.Our phone connections are terrible and I had troubles even being able to log into my isp let alone serf the web.The phone company tech said we had to much trouble with ac interference and that this old system was built for voice not data back in those days. Not much help! I really didn't want to pay the extra for cable internet but now that I have it,I'd never go back. But I think living in the boonies is a good trade off for broadband, but hopefully you van have both at some point in time.

I'm not a big fan of cable. Actually I don't think I know anyone that really likes the cable company. Unfortunately we don't have access to cable either otherwise I would probably buy in despite my dislike for them. I know a few guys at work that have cellular modems, but I don't even get cell service in the mountains I just sent WildBlue an email about becoming an installer. Have to see what they say.
