For all you MATH WHIZZES

I just got this in my head and thought it would be interesting for others to figure out too. Math is the one thing in the Universe that ties everything together - the only thing that keeps us from understanding EVERYTHING is just an equation or two away!!!

So here is something to ponder...

When I was 10 my Mother was 30, she was 3 times my age (or if you prefer, I was 1/3rd her age) and when I was 20 , she was 40, I was half her age (she was twice as old as me) and when I was 40, she was 60 - I then was 2/3rds her age, she then was only 1/3rd older than me.

My point, I know I'll never catch up EVEN if we lived forever, but At what age would she only be 10% older than me - or for you left-brainers, at which point would I be 90% of her age?

So, when will I get to 10% of her age, it might me MUCH OLDER than you'd think, it seems the older we get, the more the percentages slow down - good luck!!!

so i used 2 equations with 2 unknowns and solved for one unknown in one of the equations. anyway...my result checks out. but i dont see myself or anyone living that long.

Thanks on the AVATAR - actually it is the ORIGINAL ONE I USED, I went to the cartoonish digital of me a while ago, for no particular reason and felt it time to go back.

I always thought the typist, busily whacking at the keys endlessly fitting my long-winded writing style perfectly    Even the fact that his face is hidden (as if working behind the sceens) is cool. Thanks and I'm sure unless something really good comes around, you'll see this one for quite some time!!!
