Pretty simplistic, Jerry. I mean, have you researched the media, and who owns/controls what?

Local news isn't really the most important issue, though that's what you wanted to focus on here- local stations being gobbled up by the conglomerates; it's independent news, which includes national news agencies/owners.

Independent news is almost non-existent and critical. Many local and national news stations only show one side of an issue, whatever side they-owners, producers, directors, anchors- who may be 'in the sack', so to speak, with each other, want viewers to take.  Opinion sells fast and quick, wisdom doesn't necessarily, or usually, follow.

Fox is conservative, others liberal, etc. And it's not limited to TV. Who has unbiased news without opinion, regardless of the media delivery system, TV, radio, newspapers? Maybe the AP, it's what they are supposed to stand for, and is part of their founding tenant.

Regardless of whether it's local or national, and both are important, news without bias should be encouraged.
