The test results are back. It wasn't American Fowl Brood, rather brood that had died as a result of the cold, rain and to few bees and were rotting in the cells.
Yes I destroyed the colony, better safe than sorry since I still had a colony and there is another bee keeper a 1/2 mile away.
But because I did destroy them I have 4 colonies now, because club members have helped me with my rebuilding efforts and I also now help capture swarms with one of the donatores.
