I think I was 10 when the WeinerMobile came to Lakehurst, NJ (my home town) it parked in front of Borough Hall and our 5th grade class walked the 4 blocks to see it. We too were given wiener whistles and I remember a small member card for the class to proudly place on the wall of our classroom.
28 years later, I went to the Oscar Myer Theatre in Madison, Wisconsin to see STOMP the musical (where they bang drums made of garbage cans, lids and all kinds of refuge) a very guttural experience like river-dance (in it's own way)
Coincidence... I don't think so!!!
By my math, in 2012 ( the year of the Mayan Calendar) I will see it again, it will be in Seattle, Washington and I shall be traveling with my wife in our motorhome driving toward the Alaskan Highway. This I am afraid will be my last circumnavigation of the WeinerMobile - may it continue on and on, even when hover cars crowd the highways and skyways, a flying wiener may indeed land in a shopping mall near you
