intro

Hi, I've been lurking here for awhile, but I decided to join up.  Since I started making comments today, I thought I should post an intro so people know who is commenting.

Although I have been wanting them for years, I do not yet have any bees.  My plan is to learn this year by assisting another beekeeper, lurking on here, and etc, acquire hives this fall, and get my bees next Spring.  

I presently have one snake, two turtles, one cat, and some degus.  I live with my partner in Houston, TX.  I love gardening, and am growing vegetables in the square foot method.

Hi and Welcome! Sounds like a great plan! I wish I had someone to work with before getting bees.

Thanks, Amy, update done!  I read your bee blog yesterday
