Thanks everyone and back at you.

There's just something about this time of year I really enjoy. Although the last decade or so I've missed (work) most of it I still love it. About 13 years ago for about a year I drove a semi. Driving through towns on Christmas day and seeing everything shut down sorta awestruck me.

My son will be 33 next month. When he was a kid we took him to see Christmas lights. It took a lot of driving to see a few lights. Back then the Christmas lights went on sale at 6 am Dec 26th. We started making it a point to be first in line. At one point I had 17 tubs of just lights, 5 tubs of extension cords, over 100 small to large displays/inflatables. Icing on the cake was my (4) 40 to 50 year old pecan trees that I climbed to the top stringing lights. Honestly people drove for miles to see our display. Our yard was a community get together. Folks you haven't seen all year would come by and walk around with children and grand children. We actually had young folks with children, who's parents use to bring them over, coming through. People would park on side of the road (country) for periods of time to just sit and look.

Well that time in our lives has come and gone. We gave about 3 truck loads away to my wife's family. We had to get started in Oct decorating. The last couple of years we done it kept us aggravated to the hilt. I believe after I retire this last time we will probably start back but not as big.

again, Merry Christmas to everyone from Gary & Diane

Merry Christmas everyone.

G, that sounds like it must have been really nice. We have a subdivision about 3 miles from me that everyone decorates their house"s. Most at minimum have lots of strings hanging straight down from the tops of tall trees. Some have grand Christmas displays like yours. So many people come to see it that every night the streets are full of cars slowly driving through it.
