I just finished a new blog post called Fall Inspections: How to downsize your hive without inciting robbing and get your bees ready for wintering

In summary:
  • Downsizing a hive is a viable alternative to feeding especially during robbing season
  • Keeping a lit smoker, an extra hive box and inner cover on hand are especially useful
