Hello, I live in south Louisiana. This is my first year of beekeeping. Purchased my first established hive last Oct. 2012. Then purchased another established hive in Jan. 2013 from a guy that was selling all his hives. Both seem to be during real well.
Then in March, did my first cut out, which seems to be a success so far, just added the first super to this hive. Thanks to a lot of info that i've gained from this site.
Built a homemade 4 frame radial extractor that i tested a couple weeks ago, it worked well so far. Just couldn't justify the money for a commercial extractor. I will probably pull some supers next week to extract.
Enjoy all the information and different ideas on this site. Thanks.
