A young Australian taking on the world.
« on: June 29, 2013, 09:50:54 PM »
This is a link to a 19 year old Australian setting out on a round the world flight. He took off approximately 4 hours ago from Woolongong airfield to his first stop at Norfolk Island, the first of scheduled 27 or so stops during his record attempt.
    Good luck Ryan.

what a cool adventure.  my first thought was that it must scare the tar out of his parents, but then i remembered that i was in the military by then and my son and brother were in at 17  :-D.

it's a good time to have adventures before we get to old and cautious!
.....The greatest changes occur in their country without their cooperation. They are not even aware of precisely what has taken place. They suspect it; they have heard of the event by chance. More than that, they are unconcerned with the fortunes of their village, the safety of their streets, the fate of their church and its vestry. They think that such things have nothing to do with them, that they belong to a powerful stranger called “the government.” They enjoy these goods as tenants, without a sense of ownership, and never give a thought to how they might be improved.....
