I know many of you will say 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. Washington, DC, which we can only limit it to the current administration and inevitably the Command In Chief (AKA POTUS).

But everywhere, we are dealing with terrible people with the hope of destroying even worse people then they. And this bites us in the A$$ every time since the mid 20th and 'til current time.

Seems we have a window of when we can work with another country or sub-culture of a warring country - we give weapons to fighters, billions of dollars in weapons and a decade later they are used against us. A groundhog day version of Charlie Wilson's War.

So, in both the near and distant , who is the biggest threat to the US and beyond that to the world. Coworkers are now getting beheaded in Islamic failed recruiting. The majority of the Middle East hate us, if for no other reason than supporting Israel - something I honestly don't know is anything more than a necessary evil. We fought in Iraq for a decade to have a foxhole near Iran who seemed to be logical and now Iran is a player that (also sees ISIS as a ruthless faction that gives you the choice of join or be killed.

Of course the POTUS use terms like "boots on the ground" extremely slickly. Just because you aren't wearing desert cammo uniforms and riding around in tanks. doesn't mean that you are just there for "technical Assistance and Strategist evaluating" For the effort and loss of life and limbs which we put in Iraq, it should be a  US Property - bought and paid for. Of course, that sounds communistic when you use a winner takes all approach. But now the treat isn't a country (well, no one likes to link ISIS to any country officially) they just use a snowball rolling down a desert hill gathering speed and swallowing up what ever it can scenario.

I have seen "2 more years!" bumper stickers and frankly, thank God it is shorter than that now before CHANGE in the White house occurs - and it isn't really changing dirty underwear without taking a shower first mentality, it comes down to with few exceptions, I think anyone could do a better job than the current occupant and I'm laying my money on NJ Governor Chris Christie as a lead candidate on the Rep. side, he would NOT make, nor do I think he would take a VP position - he's serious an Alpha character. And so far, I don't see anyone on the Left stepping into the spotlight except Hillary, who will be older than Ronald Reagan if she completed two terms. Honestly - each party has decades to raise and groom candidates and (as South Park said about the candidates) you always end up with choosing between a Giant Douche and a Turd Sandwich - I can't deny that in more cases than not, South Park calls it quite appropriately.

So.... who is our biggest threat to a safe and sound country with the inalienable Rights given to us by God?

The citizens of the USA, with bleeding hearts and apathy.

That is an easy one.

The greatest threat is extremism; Left, right, religious, anti-religious.  It is the extremists of any persuasion that attempt (too often successfully) to force all to conform to their idea of the only correct way.

The OP asks 2 questions, so I'll address both.
First, the USA is the greatest threat to the world. Yes you read that right. Name another country who has more military power, economic influence, and the knowledge to use them for malicious means? I'd like to think that would never happen but I'd be lying to you if I denied it did.

Second, the greatest threat to America has been addressed a few times, secret groups/societies who influence government to move us constantly toward this NWO/Agenda21 future.

I agree on 5th generation Welfare, a continuous change dragging our country into an irreversible spiral is a huge threat - it's even worse than the idea of a $15 an hour minimum wage which will bankrupt the small businesses and cripple the medium sized ones as well. We can't afford to produce products in the US at a competitive price now, imagine when wages reach such high numbers, we'll give up on many sectors of services and supplies.

I think the biggest hit in the face is when your minimum wage is that high, it makes the people earning $30 an hour after 20 years on the job feel slapped in the face - and although $30 an hour is satisfactory to the cost of living in many areas of the country, it still is lower middle income. And will theses salaries increase when minimum wage increases, I doubt it.

I look at what I make a year and add my wife's income and just ONE YEAR of combined income easily exceeds what my father likely made in his entire life - I would love to see his eyes at how well we are doing. I have only seen a 1% raise in 5 years - thanks Obama, and I'm thanking him for Social Security and active duty military as well. I guess all COLA raise are impossible to meet and still keep his high standards as a world leader - I say that last part gagging.

About the US being the biggest threat to the US - can't disagree either. When you have all the big toys in the military world, and then share much of it with other countries - you need to buff up you own technical attributes to stay ahead. I always like to point out that the US has the worlds largest Air Force and it has the second largest Air Force - we call it the Navy.

This planet is doomed in the short term, I really believe that. I've read editorial columns that says the best thing that could happen is the Middle East blew itself off the map and we'd have one less issue to deal with. You know how the US is - we'd wait to see if a "winner" came out of a Middle East Armageddon, we'd weigh whether it met our criteria as a democracy or maybe be kind and let them alone if they were more neutral (say like Jordan) but if the could qualify as an Axis of Evil - we'd blow them off the map as we seem to so love doing.

But look at China's naval fleet - if I see any big threat out there, it's that. It may not be a China vs. US issue, but we ALWAYS stick our heads in where it don't belong, so we'll pick a side and send air power and ADVISERS until of course the inevitable happens and the Advisers are killed and then send in BOOTS with a clear conscious and a pre-planned agenda.

In my opinion based on limited knowledge, the greatest threat to the world and to the US, is central banking with fractional reserve lending, especially as the money of countries. Debt as money is how the world's governments and people is being taken over and controlled.

Political Correctness: The enemy that will destroy our society

When our military, FBI, CIA, HLS, ect can't call a Musilm Terrorist a Muslim Terrorist because it is political incorrect we are in trouble. How can we defend our country from the number one enemy of the western world if we can't say their name.
There are too many examples of PC being disasterous to name here. Pick you own.

Ray,
Can you say "Quantitive easing"?Just one more tool for governments to spend money they don't have. As well as make money that doesn't exist. That does not apply strictly to the US.
Sterling,
I couldn't agree more. If we tool these acts for the face value that they are ,resources could be better put to use to combat these problems.
Granting rights to non citizens and ,illegal aliens I mean,as though they deserve more than the legal residents of the US is also absurd.
My grandmother was an immigrant to the US from Sweden. She came through Ellis Island. They went through the tedious process to gain entry into our country. She learned English, she assimilated to our countries traditions. She never considered herself a Swedish American.

As far as the worlds biggest threat,I think creating welfare state societies and nations have generated worse problems than when they were suffering without our help. How many population explosions have we fueled in countries that cannot feed themselves. How much money have we "loaned" knowing it could never be repaid? How many of these dependent societies are now extremely angry when we can no longer foot thee bill?  These investments are reaching maturity and the dividends are biting us hard.

Hitler's reign was cemented into history when he spoke strongly against the Generman debt to the US post WW1. Germany was still not fully booming and alone comes the crash of our stock market and the recall of loans around the world (the only country to NOT attempt to repay our loans was Finland) and repaying us sent Germany into a deep depression that which Hitler spoke of years earlier when he was failing as a NSDAP leader, the Socialist party just wasn't enough of a challenge to defeat Communism until the words of Hitler hit home to the people when the remembered his speeches of years prior - after that, there was no stopping that charismatic leader. Some historians say that our own economic decline created the Hitler history remembers.

That said, when we create a dollar today, it creates a dollars worth of debt - how does that solve our economy woes? So when we raise minimum wage to $15 an hour, we basically create another $8 an hour MORE debt than we would have at $7 an hour. We all know that the pay rate system is an upside down triangle, the less you make, the more physically stressing a job may be, at least to some wages that are in the lower middle class range. Even lower middle class is only relative to location: here in NJ if you don't have two incomes of at least $60K coming in, you aren't making it with a couple kids and a mortgage. When the joining bases to ours joined our base, the other bases moved up to the NY pay scale which was about $3 more than they made under a Philly pay scale. I don't know anyone who couldn't use a $3 an hour raise for doing nothing different.

So my point, we are slaves to those we have borrowed money from, and our only answer is to print more debt as loans are called. The housing bubble was nothing compared to dealing with $17 Trillion in Federal debt when countries like China now have the biggest Naval Fleet in the world. Imagine, we give people on Welfare here for decades and decades, give them food stamps which many use to buy groceries for their drug dealers and go home with drugs and some Ramin Noodles, cheep and on bread to feed their kids - who I doubt get much nutrition in their bodies - but heroin Mom will never get tested because it's against their Rights. I believe in a society that you give nothing back to DESERVES to know where and what our support money is going to. If we can't control who is supported by our taxes, then we are just throwing money down the toilet.

Yeah, we are rotting from the inside. We don't bleed into our oceans nearly as much as we do across our land. And we have an administration that spends more time trying to restrict our Rights than is does to correct our Wrongs - if they can't agree to disagree and get stuff done, than do as my wife has always said "One term in office, then get them out of office" because by the second term, the vultures know who to place suit cases of money into the pockets of legislature and they are just slaves to their own greed and no longer serving the people who put them in office. Our previous Governor spent $55 million of his own money to win and hold a job that paid $250K a year - how's that for an economic plan to show how well he'll handle OUR money. After his terms were over, his administration had a $2 billion dollar discrepancy in the books - oppps!

Seriously we only get what we have to choose from, and that's a shame - because the choices are never good, we just do as the late great Mayor of Frank Rizzo called the "EVIL of TWO LESSORS!" and ain't that soooo true!
