Hello RC,
I just bought this vented jacket at the Bee College:
http://www.mannlakeltd.com/mm5/merchant.mvc?Screen=SRCH&Store_Code=mannlake&sType=1&Search=net+jacket#
!VS-425/0/
For FL you will need something that lets the air flow through it or you will be sweating like crazy and it is not good to drip on your bees. They do not like it. They think it is raining and they will tell you to get out of their hive, in very clear terms. At the college it was $90. and he is shipping it to me. His name is Ed. Try calling him and see if you can get the same deal.
How are your bees doing?

That is a really good price, But it will be hot in the summer. If you know a seamstress you could add vents.

I have that or one just like it, and I've found that with a singlet tee under the jacket I'm pretty comfortable. (My wife insists it's called a 'singlet' - she was aggravated when I asked her why she bought me a pack of 'wife beaters')
Truth is in Florida in the summer I could go outside in shorts, sandals, and a tee shirt - and I'm GOING to sweat. - I'd have to have an air-conditioned jacket to get around that.

I figured it may be hot. Probably don't need that.
I've actually been thinking about sewing a Tulle veil to a fishing hat. I like the Tulle, vut I can't seem to keep it in place on top of my noggin, and a bee always seems to find the way in.

I've been working up the nerve to apply the JP (and others) method of working the bees. Stings don't bother me much - but I'm talking one or two at a time - not a hive I just got clumsy with.

If you are going to get a jacket, get a vented jacket. About every bee supplier now carries them in one fashion or another.

I have a full suit and I like it. Very functional, durable, and the easy to see with 180 degrees viewing.
