Hi all!
I'm an avid gardener and have wanted to keep bees for a long time. I'm excited to start this spring, and ordered my packages from a local beekeeper. I'm starting with 8 frame, all medium hives, and am attempting to go foundationless. I really appreciate all the information on this forum, so thanks to all of you with some years under your belt.

Welcome to the forum, Casey. Beek is addictive. Since you are getting your bees from a local beek, they will hopefully help mintor you. Also check into a local bee club. Good luck

Hey Casey,
Welcome and Good Luck!!
I am also brand new this year. Haven't gotten my hives or bee yet but both are on the way.
I'll be doing 8 frame all mediums also. One I will be doing with Mann Lakes PF120 small cell plastic and the other will be foundationless. Wanted to see which will move faster. Both will be started with Nucs from The Fat Bee Man here in Georgia.
Can't hardly wait.
If you don't mind let me know how yours are doing and I'll do the same. We can compare notes.
Thanks
David

It's a great hobby, enjoy. While waiting to get your bees, read, read, read and watch the videos on utube.

Welcome to the place, Casey. Loads of good information here. Like Jim said...read, read, read. The big thing, though, will be getting your hand in the bees.
8-frame, all medium...sounds familiar!
I also want to take this opportunity to officially thank you fine folks in Boulder for keeping my clocks set right.
Best wishes!
Ed
PS...I think you misspelled "Boulder" in your profile.
