G'day from western Sydney
«

G'day I'm Mac & I stumbled onto this site while trying to find a supplier of bees near Sydney.(no luck yet) I have built a Top Bar Hive and ready to stock it. I have also had swarm traps placed strategically around & near the farm with no success in catching a swarm. So I hope to meet someone reasonably close to the Penrith area with some experience who might help me out with a nucleus & Queen.

Hello Macmillan and welcome. You could contact the local beekeepers club and you'd likely find a supplier there and possibly more information than you ever thought you'd want to know.

Keep us informed of your progress. I haven't met anyone with a topbar hive.

Welcome to the site! Check with Hornsby Beekeeping Supplies as they have been selling package bees this year.

I hear that the Parramatta Amateur Beekeepers association branch is quite active and very good - you should try them.

Mac,
Nepean amateur beekeepers meet once a month, every second Sunday of the month, around 9.30 start, at Nepean high school. You enter by the gate on the south side of the school, it's in a shed right up the back, near the poultry. Close the gates, they have sheep and cowson site grazing the footie field. It's a friendly group, always some beginners.
See ya there sometime
