FEEDING FUMADIL B AND POLLEN SUBSTITUTE

I STARTED TO FEED FUMADIL B IN A SUGAR SYRUP SOLUTION LAST WEEK. I FILLED TWO DEEP HIVE BODY FEEDERS FULL OF THE MIXTURE (TWO HIVES) AND CAME BACK IN 4 DAYS TO FEED AGAIN. ONE HIVE HAD EATEN ALL OF IT SO I ADDED ANOTHER GALLON OF THE MIXTURE. THE OTHER HIVE HAD HARDLEY TOUCH THEIRS. MAYBE HAD EATEN DOWN APX 2". WHAT'S UP? IF ONE HIVE ACCEPTS WHY DOESN'T THE OTHER? ALSO I AM DOING A TERAMYCIN TREATMENT WITH POWDERED SUGAR AT THE SAME TIME. IT IS ALWAYS GONE IN BOTH HIVES. ALSO I AM FEDING A POLLEN SUBSTITUTE EXTERNALLY FROM THE HIVE IN THE TREE BUCKET SET-UP SEEN ON THIS SITE. AS FAR AS I CAN TELL AFTER 3 DAYS THEY HAVE NOT TOUCHED IT. I HAVE IT ONLY ABOUT 10 FEET FROM THE CLOSEST HIVE. I ADD SOME TO THE ENTRANCE OF HIVE AND THEY EAT IT ALL UP FAST. WHAT DO I DO TO MAKE THEN GO TO THE BUCKET FEEDER? I HAVE IT IN A OPEN ENDED BOX WITH THE CARDBOARD PIECES LAYING ON TOP OF POLLEN SUBSTITUTE AND PLACED IN THE BUCKET AS SHOWN IN THE PICTURE. IT HAS BEEN OUT NOW FOR  4 DAYS WITH NO TRAFFIC. ANY SUGGESTIONS?  TOM

I've never tried feeding pollen substitute in the fall, but never had any luck doing any time that I did try except REALLY early spring before the maples bloom.

In 31 years I've never used Fumidil, but often one hive will take syrup when the other doesn't.  I don't know why, but sometimes dribbling a bit down on the bees gets them more interested in it.

I haven't used Terramycin for 30 years, but it was commonly fed in syrup back when I tried it.  I'm not sure why the powdered sugar would affect their interest in the syrup.

I have used 20 years ago funmagillin and it helped. But it is given in one part that bees' intestine will sterilized from nosema.

ALSO I AM DOING A TERAMYCIN TREATMENT WITH POWDERED SUGAR AT THE SAME TIME.

It is no use to use terramycin before winter. The effect does not help long time. If you have american foulbrood it is better to put bees at sprin on new clean frames and strilize all another hive parts.

Pollen substitute helps at spring before nature gives pollen. Bees prepare now themselves to winter and there is no idea try to get them rise brood.

externally? - protein patty must be just beside brood area inside the hive. But wait for spring. Put patty just on the frame sticks.
