Here in Michigan - no bees to date, but hopefully this spring will be the time!! We finally got more property so I can get bees and keep them far enough from our home to keep my dear husband happy! He is deathly afraid (but not allergic) to bees. Just checking in

Always great to see another Wolverine around here! The odds of your hubby getting stung are really pretty small unless he is trying to steal some honey. Heck we run the riding lawn mower right in front of the hives and never get stung from that. If you're getting into the hives, you'll eventually get stung but a single sting isn't too bad. Just keep the smoker lit so one sting doesn't turn into 10

Welcome to the forum, Conerstone. There is lots here you can learn from. If you have any questions just ask, someone can on the forum can usually answer it. Good luck with your bees in the spring, even if you get stung beek is addictive.

Welcome fellow Michigander! Where are you located? How many hives do you plan to keep?

Lots of knowledgeable folks here willing to share their experience. This forum is an invaluable resource, especially for us newbies. Tell your husband to toughen up or he's going to get his man card revoked!

tefer2, Yeah, I realized that...also realized that she'll probably never see it. But figured with a statement like that, it was a "shot" that had to be taken. LOL! Hey, it wan't totally wasted....you read it.
