Hope you all have a good day today
According to legend, when St. Ambrose was an infant bees swarmed around his mouth. This lead his father to proclaim, “when he becomes a man he will be a powerful preacher”. His father’s words became true---St. Ambrose preached the Gospel of Jesus Christ boldly and powerfully.
He is patron saint of beekeepers and honey makers. His feast day is celebrated December 7th.

So he’s a patron saint of bee keepers because some bees flew around him as a baby in the 4th century? Centuries before Langstroth invented the bee hive. It seems to me that Brother Adam would be a more appropriate patron saint for bee keepers; but I guess he’s not a saint yet.
Hmmm .... let's see....December 7th ..... that seems to ring a bell in US history too.

Hmmm, Ambrose - ambrosia. Interesting story edward! Thanks for posting it. I'm not a Catholic either but history and legends always interest me. Happy Bee-feast day to you too. May you celebrate with lot's of mead and honey!
love,

Do you think they knew the difference between a yellow jacket and a honey bee back then? Maybe it was yellow jackets flying around him as a baby?
I know I sure got stung a lot by wasps and hornets as a kid. A sign?
