I'm building my own hive bodies this year. I am able to collect scrap lumber at work and there seems to be an endless supply. I have been making table saw jigs for repetitive cuts. The lumber is not all the same width so I made a rip jig. I got a little off so my 6 5/8" is now 6 11/16". How will this affect the building of burr comb? I really don't want to build another jig but I will if I have to. Thanks for the advice in advance.

Just adjust your rabbit cut for the frames by a 1/32 and you should be good. To check, build two 3 sided boxes, add your frames and check your bee space from there.   -Mike

I bet the wood will shrink that much in a year.  I doubt it is much of an issure.  Better that much too big than too small.

I'm pretty sure that Dadants-WesternBee boxes come 6 11/16 from the get go. I wouldn't worry about it. Just keep each hive with the same size stacked together for proper bee space.
