Do I know/ NO  I have been told it is the carmelization of the sugar. Whatever it is, it gives them dysentery very badly.

I do not know about anyone but I do and do not ask me ask now I know this  Lips Sealed and YES it is carmelization of the sugar or over heat the sugar water.

Give them plain dry sugar.   Easier to fix.
