Im not able to identify this piece of hive equipment. Is it a stand or a top feeder? Thanks in a advance for the help!

If you use this be sure to caulk or seal where the white part meets the brown along the sides. I saw  one where the bees crawled around the side and got into the pool of syrup and drowned.Sealing the bottom of the white plastic is not necessary from what I observed on the one mentioned. Also be sure your box sits tightly where it rests on the flange of the feeder. It will keep robbers from getting in and stealing and or drowning in the syrup.

I have quite similar box but it has a cover where through robbers and wasps cannot go

yes a slipping plastic surface is bad.

I rub the surfaces with sand paper. Polyurethane glue film makes surface  rough too.

Present plastic boxes have been now 25 years. They have bee splended. They are 8 litres. Easy to keep clean.

I use to run 10 or so of those feeders.   Work good as long as you keep a good seal on that top box and lid.  The only bad thing I saw were the sugar ants getting a buffet.  Lost a few, broke a few.   I use division board feeders now.   Cheaper, easier.
