can someone answer on a few questions below? Thank you in advance... I'm a beekeeper from Croatia and would like to compare bee/honey situations in countries...

how many beekeepers are in your country? how many small vs. big? I would say small are those under 100 hives?

How many hives are in your country? For example 300.000?

Are there more hobbist or commercial beekeepers?

What is the total annual production of honey?

How much is exported and imported yearly?

Where are the exports going the most?

What is the average production per hive in your country? 10 kg? 20 kg? more?

How many beekeepers are in your Beekeeper association and how many are not members?

What are the experiences with membership in the alliance?

Any financial supports from the Association or goverment for beekeepers?

Is beekeeping in urban areas/cities allowed?

I tried posting a link to the United States Department of Agriculture report on honey production/prices by state with estimates of numbers of producing colonies.  I'm not really sure how accurate it is, but it is probably the best we have for the U.S. and it should answer a number of your questions.  Because I have not posted enough, I am not able to put in the actual link.  If you do a google search for "USDA honey report for 2012" or something like that, you should be able to pull up a link to the 2012 report.
