I'm so broke I can't pay attention.

If I had his money I would burn mine.

Aint' worth a plugged nickle.

I ain't got a thin dime.  (I never heard anyone say that they had an obese dime)

You got to fish were the fish are.

Keep yo powder dry.

He ain't worth a egg sucking dog.  Meaning he is worthless.

Don't jump out of the frying pan and into the fire.  (remember this the next time you fry frog legs)

Here's one for the folks farming in Wire Grass regions....
Sift your meal and save the brand, cause you can't make a living on sandy land!

Y'all come on over for dinner, we're going to have a rat killing!

It ain't worth the wear and tear on the old hen's ...behind.  (meaning it's a piddling business)

I would think it is comparable to

Running around like a chicken with it's head cut off.

Meaning going full speed and getting nothing done.

... she's got as many points as a porcupine...

Seeing that porcupines are not native sons of your native soil, perhaps it would be in-order if the folks up wind from me sent you a small breeding population so that you and the porcupine could strike up an acquaintance.

If the porcupines don't help keep your neighbors' dog in his own yard, perhaps a few cute malodorous white and black stripped kitty cats known affectionately here about's as skunks or pole cats will work.... not.  Just kidding! laugh

haha nice pictures of puppy dogs.

Porcupine is a colloquial term for echidna, which is native here.

We already have black and white striped kitty cats, but we call them tassie devils.
