John started this awesome forum in February of 2004.I registered as a member in April of 2006. I was on a crappy dialup(because of the poor quality from my local phone service and it's outdated analog equipment). I became acquainted with many other members through the Ventrilo voice chat program. The early days of voice chat over my poor dialup tweaked my awareness of broadband. Once on broadband and having great conversations through the board and chat programs moved me forward techologically beyond my wildest thoughts at the time. John introduced me to the concepts of digital cameras, video recorders and we even ventured in webcams for a while. I can get most answers I need for technical questions through the forums as well as a lot of the latest info on bee keeping. So much has changed in the last few years with Ipods ,Ipads smart tvs and so much interactive learning.Heck,i think this forum has been ahead of the curve with allowing embedded you tube videos and hi res photos. We took a lot of heat early on by allowing photos and avatars to be posted as this made slower page loading for dialuppers. But by sticking to our guns,I think it was the push for many beeks to abandon the dialups in search of something better. It has been a fun six years ,and great fun meeting others from the forum. And I hope the fun continues for a long time. Now,I wonder where I may road trip to this summer?

March 2011, would have been earlier but every time I asked for a PW it went off into never never land. I got tired of using a European bee web site and finally got the request through. This is not about the moderators, it just would not go through. Jim

When I decided there was too much BS on BS.
I had recently wondered what happened to you on BS? You know there is a really good bee forum in a European country that starts with a U and ends with a K... It is now one of my favorite bee forums... No BS from the site overlord, No Advertising, and a perspective that is much different from our own. As far as my history on here: I signed up Aug 08 2006, but have never really liked the software this site operates on, so don't really use it much.

August 2009. Its ya'll Ken, not ya all. Silly Yankee Us yanks have to say ya all. Bud told me to slow things down a bit when talking to him. Us yanks are always in too much of a hurry. Bud said there was no use talking to him faster than he was gonna listen. And our chats have been great ever since!

Bluegrass, Now that you brought up about the software,is it just a personal issue with the software writers or is something lacking in the software itself ? If there is a bug that makes it unfriendly to you as a user, perhaps others have it too? Or is it something incompatible with however you normally access forums, such as a mobile app of some kind? It may be an issue we can bring up over in computer help or admin forum

When I started on forums about 10 years ago I started on Vbulletin... the format is just what I got used to and now prefer. I know the layout and how to use the features of a Vbulletin forum... I like that Vbulletin lets you rate posts, leave reputation, post polls etc... Maybe this format does as well? I just never have been able to figure all the features out... Probably just operator error

When I decided there was too much BS on BS.
Took you long enough. Been here since October 2008. Not continuously, but that is another story. Prior to that, I had been on only one other forum in my life. Was banned there, then I came here. The ban was revoked the same day since it was nothing more than a mistake, and when I refused to go back, then I was banned again for life. Sometimes it just does not pay to get out of bed.
