A couple of weeks ago I checked my hive and found one of those great big yellow and black garden spiders had set up shop right in front of the hive. I mean, like built her web from the top of the hive box to the landing board, and straight across the opening. Smart cookie - was catching all kinds of my bees! Needless to say I relocated her. I guess she thought she'd found the best spot in the world!
