It amazes me (as it did the guy in the background of the video) how the bees will march into the boxes. What makes them march in *without* the queen in there, though? I've got a video of a swarm from one of my hives moving into a box but I know for a fact that the queen did not go inside until half of the swarm was inside. I recall, too, one of your videos where a swarm was on the side of a pine tree...you set a box up against the tree and with basically no prompting the bees started marching inside and the queen wasn't the first one...she marched right on in like the rest of them. Is it the perceived dark cavity/entrance?
Nice video!!! ...nice setup, too, with the table and cloth!!

All you need now is a sexy girl assistant, some professional lighting and a few sponsors.

We got one too the day after :)They were heavy enough to break the branch they were on and were in a heap on the ground. All I had to do was set a box next to them and they all crawled in within 5 mins.
Love to see them swarms JP...keep it up!

But this is predicated upon the person's becoming in every facet an American, and nothing but an American...There can be no divided allegiance here. Any man who says he is an American, but something else also, isn't an American at all. We have room for but one flag, the American flag...We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language...And we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American people."

Well, I'm growing my beard out a bit, it's too short!
Sexy girl assistant, now we're talkin!
Ed, the bees likely marched in because they could smell familiar scent inside the hive box. Bees wax, propolis, etc...
