Turkey has a thousands year beekeeping history. Last archeological findings showing us, first wheat had been growth this area. From early ages of humanity, farming and beekeeping were here.
You could see this strong tradition even today. Basket or carved log hives could find everywhere in Anatolia, as well as modern Lang hives.
Although Anatolia is most important genetic source of A. mellifera, we had a big problems of imported bee species like carniol or buckfasts.
