I live in La Grange Texas and am 61 years old. I got my first hive for my birthday in 1956. Today I live alone with my dogs, goats, some cows, and 18 beehives. I do some swarm work and removals, but am getting to stove up to climb. My real name is Emil Kaluza, so I get a kick out of JP's sidekick Emil. Ain't many of us around. Last years drought hit us hards and I lost half my hives, but it looks good this year. I just went to Louisiana last week to pick up packages in Moreauville. I sure like that young fella over there, got him a good little business going and from growing up dirt poor and tenant farming I admire somebody that can take a part of nature's bounty and nuture it into a living. I done forgot more about bees than I can remember, not because I know so much, but because forgetting gets easier every day <g>. Hope I can sit and listen, like I did when I was just a boy sitting in the fire's shadows, listening to the old folk's talk. We used to rob bee trees in the day time and coon hunt with dogs at night, sometimes staying out 3-4 days. Well that's way too much about me, I wanna hear some tales from ya'll.

Hello Emil, I live in Burton and I just got my first hive, top bar. I would be interested in getting one or two more hives so if you know of anyone with bees in our area let me know. Thanks, Mark

Might could help you out. Are you a member of Central Texas Beekeepers Assn in Brenham? Our meeting is Thurs night at 7pm and if you are there, we can talk.
