yonkey, don't wish for it.  sometimes they can be down right nasty when the weather is bad.  this one was hanging about a foot off the ground and once i got them started, they slipped right down between the frames.  probably the easiest i have ever gotten and almost no stragglers because they were not flying much.

Congrats on the catch Kathy! Caught a small swarm over a month ago and that hive is produces some honey. Looked in today and was impressed by the cone the built. Have them in a top bar hive and almost half full already. THe couple cutouts I have done recently are slow to draw out cone and after reading a bit I have got the impression that swarms are harder workers.

Nice Kathy. Amazing you got them in the rain like that. I would imagine they would not move at all and very grateful for their new dry home.

Been getting lots of bee calls lately.

I think we are getting our days goofed, I post early am and you post later....so our days are goofy.  Yesterday it poured almost all morning, but when it stopped they were humping to get the foraging going, not wasting any time at all.

Maybe I will get a swarm this weekend???  That would be cool. afro
