just came home with my 2nd swarm this year. this time they were clustered on a small tree trunk at 6' off the ground. since there was no way to shake them so i brushed them into a bucket. when they regrouped i brushed them again repeatedly for over an hour. i did get most of them but did not actually see the queen. i then put some lemon grass oil in a nuc with drawn out frames at the base of the tree to try to attract the stragglers. i installed the bees in a hive with drawn out comb including 2 full frames of honey & i frame of brood. i also put an entrance reducer on the hive. hopefully this swarm will stay.

That frame of brood with lock them down tighter than cold Stroud's gravy.  I just got my first swarm of the year today.  I've yet to lose a captured swarm if there's a frame of open brood in there.
