Soon to be (wanna be?) Central Texas Beekeeper

Read a beekeeping book a couple of months ago and decided to commit this weekend to building a top bar hive. I've got 10 acres in Milam county Texas (east-central blackland prarie) loaded with wildflowers. I just hope I'm not too late to start this year. I've planted a peach, plum, and apple orchard and have a nice garden that I hope the bees will help with productivity. (Still a few years away on the fruit tree production though.) Now to pray that we don't repeat last year's drought and record breaking 100+ days.

Hi John,
Welcome to the forum, if you need to know most anything, just ask and someone here will probably be able to help. Good luck with your bees.
