1st KTBH, gap between window and divider board
«

This is my first attempt at building a KTBH (or keeping bees for that matter). I just HAD to have an observation window. I didn't think about it until started fitting the divider boards, but the window glass is inset from the inside edge of the hive wall and there is a 1/4" gap between the glass and the divider board.
Will this be a problem?
first post, so the admin will have to approve my pics...
thanks in advance to all

With the screen, it shouldn't be a problem. Just like a double screen board.

Cool hive! I have gaps, and the bees can go in the back, but they don't do much back there anyway. It shouldn't be a problem.

Make a lid/door for that glass to keep the light out of the hive.

Good point, I was assuming you where planning to put a colony on each side. With the screen it is not a problem. If this is a 1 colony hive than the screen is not needed. For a one colony hive, giving them access to the empty space behind the divider will allow them to keep spiders, ants, other insect from taking up residence back there.

Thanks everyone.
Thanks Allen, I have the lid for the window ready to go, just waiting on the hinges...
