Anyone want to know the definition of "AUDACITY"? HERE IT IS! Secret Service Buys Two New $1.1 Million Buses for A Three-Day Presidential Campaign Trip while Obama Flies Ahead Of The Buses. U.S. President Obama walks to Obamas bus as Obama arrives in Minneapolis - St. Paul International Airport, Minnesota, August 15, 2011, where Obama is to begin Obama's three-day bus/fly tour in the Midwest centering on the economy.
Obama FLIES into an airport somewhere in the Midwest, hops into one of two brand new Canadian built $1.1 Million buses, paid for by you and me, for a bus/fly tour around the Midwest' and after an hour or so, gets driven back to the airport for ANOTHER FLIGHT, lands at another airport where another $1.1 Million brand new black Canadian bus is waiting for Obama and then, repeats all that until Obama's Midwest "bus/fly tour" is done!!!! Oh yes... and THEN, Obama leaves on a 10 day vacation to Martha's Vineyard .... To REST UP from this campaign bus/fly tour! And don't forget... those brand new shiny black Canadian buses AREN'T DRIVEN to the location where they meet Obama. Those buses are loaded up on one or more C-17s so they can be flown to the destination ahead of Obama who is flying in Air Force One. AND!.. Believe it or not this is REPEATED FOR EVERY CAMPAIGN STOP. On this 'bus/fly tour', then Obama will lecture the 'little people' on how they need to live within their means while hinting of possible future government cut-backs and a need to raise revenues (Taxes)! Remember, too, when very recently Obama told a family man to 'GO BUY A HYBRID VAN' when the man said he couldn't afford to fill up his truck'!!!!!! Obama's personal 'carbon footprint' must be as large as most cities by now.
Unbelievably, ALL of this is on the taxpayer's dime! And these are bullet proof busses, not cheap!! But remember, this is NOT a campaign trip - It is a "Meet With The People" trip only! Consequently, the Democrat National Committee does NOT have to pay a cent for all of this extravagant 'campaign' spending. This is why America needs more taxes for more revenue!

The fuel burn for our eco terrorist in chief, alleged representatives and legislative lawbreakers alone probably bumps the price of gas by a buck a gallon. Thank goodness we have them to tell us all how to live.

Not the first time Bush was faulted for doing 10% what the bummer has done, and the bummer is excused. Kinda shows what we are dealing with, doesn't it. That's the mentality that put him there in 2008. Nothing seems to penetrate their blind ideals.

I think the point is that ALL presidents use these modes of transportation--extravagant and expensive.

I disagree, never been this bad except when Clinton left office and stole all the presidential plates off the plane.m I am surprised he doesn't have a picture on the busses. Egomaniac

You mean you really think because millions are wasted by one, it makes it ok for another to waste millions? That's the problem with the Democrats. Instead of trying to curtail one's expenses, they try to out spend them. Why did you not just start another thread about the wastefulness of war expenses. OH. I know why not. Someone might think you were a Rep.

I'm simply pointing out the hypocrisy, not saying either is okay for wasting money. As for starting another vitriolic political thread, no thanks.

I'd imagine it was probably the Secret Service who said he had to do it this way. and I'm quite certain they know more about this than either you or me.
And, for the record, EVERY standing president who is up for election campaigns with the public paying the tab. That's just how it works for security reasons and other concerns.
And, as for the "Obama takes too many vacations" nonsense, if you look at the numbers he's not horribly out of line with past presidents. But more to the point, the POTUS does not go on vacation, he travels with all of the communications gear and support he needs to do the job. That has always been the case, and is done for a reason. He's NEVER "off duty". To believe otherwise is just ill-informed muck raking.

All Presidents take vacations, but can you give an example of a president letting his 13 year old daughter take a springbreak vacation out of the country with several friends and 21 bodygaurds on the taxpayers dime?

Well, the 21 bodyguards would likely have been on duty no matter where she went.
