For the sake of ease, I am reposting this question I had for the master bee keeper I am taking a class with... please let me know what you think.... Just so you know.... I am a newbie bee keeper, am actually still waiting on my delayed nuke (much to my disappointment), but have been doing as much reading and research as i can... Thanks in advance!!!
I have been doing a lot of reading and have come across an alternative hive, the
warre. I am quite sure you're familiar. For all the similarities and
differences, the one thing that seems to be the most intriguing is the placement
of a burlap cloth and wood shavings box. I understand that this is for moisture
control and for removal of condensation, I have even been looking into people's
experiences with adapting them to langstroth hives. Below is a link to one of
the best adaptations I have found. I was hoping you could share your thoughts
and possible experiences with me. And any other useful information about the
circulation of air within the hive.
(The link was deleted but can be found at honeybeesuite.com or a google search for "langstroth hive and burlap" will take you to the deleted link)
