Greetings from Babe's Honey Farm in Victoria B.C.

My name is Brandon and I am the new owner of Babe's Honey Farm - a company started in 1945 by Babe & Charlie Warren. After the founders passed away the business was sold to a local businessman. I began working there in 2009. About a year ago the business got into some financial trouble and after a long process full of drama and excitement, myself and a few of the other employees purchased the name, the bees, and all the equipment we needed to run them.
It was July when we bought our bees last year, and we didn`t buy the land or building so we had to move from 12,000 square feet to 400, but we got er done and managed to winter 170 colonies (156 of which are alive and well now) and we just opened a store not too far from where we used to be. So far things are going really well and the public has been supportive too. It`s been an incredible journey with highs and lows, but we`re glad to be on it and are excited about what the future holds.
I'm looking forward to being involved in this forum and to learning and sharing all I can within the community.
Best regards
Brandon

Welcome. We probably will forget from time to time that you are from BC so you might want to change your location in your profile so we have a context for things...

Welcome to the forum. I used to spend a bunch of time in your area when I worked for a local company called Glenayre. You live in a beautiful place. I enjoyed your intro and wish you and your partners good luck in this upcoming bee season.
