I was about to ask
“what is it”
as well!
I haven’t made a bee vacuum yet, so let me ask: What problem does this solve? Is this needed to make sure the vacuum hose doesn’t fall off or get pulled off when using the vacuum?
One more question: How long has your plywood withstood the weather? It doesn't look too bad for plywood.

yes its so it doesnt fall off and so I can screw on a cap to close off the bees. The plywood stayed outside all last year and its still doing alright for not being painted.

Yeppers for a bee vac. I'm putting out the word around where I live that I will bee catching swarms and doing cutouts. After reading that everyone uses a vac and wouldn't go without it I decided to build one like Robo's but was stuck on the hose connection possibilities for my Rigid vac. Ron was kind enough to give me some direction with pics. I like the screw on cap, and the flex connector too. I should be set now and have a list for shopping this weekend!
Thanks again Ron!
