I agree Bernsad. If they're correct and from reading that article they may very well be, it would explain that debilitating phenomenon that has been such a mystery to beekeepers and scientists everywhere.
It may be now that all they need is a biological "can of Mortein" to bring the parasite under control.

I find it fascinating that an insect can have an even smaller insect as a parasite. It wouldn't surprise me if those flys had something parasitising them as well.
