For what's about to happen over the next 12 months it may be a good idea to segregate the political rhetoric to it's own board.  Otherwise the coffee house is gonna get a might messy.

Just sayin'

"Nay, it [this constitution of government] must perish, if there be not that vital spirit in the people, which alone can nourish, sustain, and direct all its movements. It is in vain, that statesmen shall form plans of government, in which the beauty and harmony of a republic shall be embodied in visible order, shall be built up on solid substructions, and adorned by every useful ornament, if the inhabitants suffer the silent power of time to dilapidate its walls, or crumble its massy supporters into dust; if the assaults from without are never resisted, and the rottenness and mining from within are never guarded against. Who can preserve the rights and liberties of the people, when they shall be abandoned by themselves? Who shall keep watch in the temple, when the watchmen sleep at their posts? Who shall call upon the people to redeem their possessions, and revive the republic, when their own hands have deliberately and corruptly surrendered them to the oppressor, and have built the prisons, or dug the graves of their own friends?

– Justice Joseph Story, "Commentaries on the Constitution of the United States," Volume II, Chapter XIII: Mode of Passing Laws, Sections 900-901, pp. 364 (1833)

One- you mean to say beeks who go ballistic over screened bottom boards and feeding are cordial and reserved during a political season?  That would make this forum purely unique.

Two- I was thinking like how the sports board is separate. thought the tons of political threads would clutter up navigating all the other threads (you know, messy).

The 'War Room' comment is from Dr. StrangeLove.
Quote, "Gentlemen, you can't fight in here! This is the War Room".

Oh...so you think that we need a separate board just because there are a few thin-skinned socialists who insist on trying to shout down the well reasoned majority? butt kick

Just kidding, of course  grin

Oy!

Naw.  Just thought there's high enough volume of political discourse to warrant a separate board.  It wouldn't hide it out make it any harder to get to.  In fact it would be easier to find.  No more sorting thru threads about Holidays, Birthdays, and booze.  One can zero in on someone who needs to be taken to the wood shed...

No  worries there Hemlock As said previously,we have weathered other election cycles here. Heck,I think these are just the kind of topics the coffee house was set up for.
If things get out of hand the Admins and mods will straighten things out pretty promptly.I think we,ve had many exchanges of ideas here, Maybe no persuasions one way or the other, but interesting conversation none the less.just hang on and enjoy the coaster ride.
Sometimes it's fun,and sometimes it scares the heck out of ya!! Smiley

For the record, I don't disagree, Hemlock.  But for me it doesn't make much difference since I read through Google Reader I get everything regardless of what subforum it is in.
