Would be a good idea smoking my hives with my ornamental "pants" to kill varroa?

I dunno, abejaruco, but if you inhale enough of the smoke from the smoker you aren't going to care much about varroa - or anything else!  grin

have a better idea, feed them wine syrup, that way, alcohol will get into bees bloodstream, varroa will suck that blood and assuming varroa get's affected the same way we do, it'll fell right off cool

oh wait..no not the wine, use some cheap vodka or something!

abejaruco, looking fine, keep on truckin'.  If I were you, I would send the smoke the opposite direction, take a large deep breath, and then you wouldn't even care if the bees went after ya.  Best of a great day.  Cindi
