as much as i hate to see this, they are going to have to do something.  Iran is the one country that i believe will use a nuke if they have one.  i just hope Israel has not waited to long....

Think this is related? Maybe a little Israeli SF action here?

More like someone smoking in a no smoking zone.

But Israel does have a history of preemptive strikes, so odds are they may do something, if they think they can get away with it.

I don't think for one second they are worried if they can get away with it.  Their goal will be to stop the program at all costs.

I agree and well they should...  the aftermath will not be pretty because the idiot we have squatting in the White House will not want to back Israel.

TBH I expected them to hit Iran last year. IMO they have waited long enough for the UN to do anything about it.

yup.  and i thing we have seen enough times where waiting on the UN only leads to a longer and harder war.  the IAEA was not an honest agency under Mohamed ElBaradei.  some say he was incompetent, but i don't think so.  i think the lies were deliberate.  the fact that the UN couldn't be trusted in this, was a contributing factor when debating the iraq war.

I am beginning to think that the weapons error that killed a bunch of the Iranian Guard was not an accident, one dude was a bigshot in missile technology, and I guess they have been hit with another computer virus recently.  Maybe it was a beam weapon that set off the explosion?  They do exist now at least on aircraft.  Not sure if they can put in stealth aircraft?

So, maybe they already are attacking?  Hmm food for thought.

the Israelis are very good at infiltration.  + you have to figure that there are Iranians who are not to thrilled with the idea of starting a nuclear war. they are not all nuts.

agreed.  my point was that there might be Iranians that would help Israel in this effort, or engage in sabotage on their own.  the idea of shooting off nukes might scare the pants off one or two of them....

I think it would be very few Iranians that would help.  They live in a very restricted world and it is controlled with fear and it all is a Muslim world over there.  Israelites are their sworn enemies.

jack, you are probably correct.  it would only take one or two in the right place though.  not everyone can be thrilled with the idea of the middle east turning into a sheet of glass...

Here is how this will happen mark my words.  More sanctions will be imposed on Iran.  The people of Iran will suffer at the hands of the government and the nuclear program will move forward.  They will get a nuke and do exactly what North Korea does huff and puff until they are paid off.  Isreal probably isn't going to do a thing considering there is more support here for a strike on Iran then in Isreal.  If Iran does decide to make a move to set off a nuke then really the only country that can make a move to do something would be China.  I really don't see them getting involved as they take a hands off approach to everything that isn't a direct interest to them.  So in the end your going to see the rest of the world putting pennies together that they don't have to pay off Iran.

nope, the motivations are completely different.  N Korea is motivated by communist paranoia.  Iran is motivated by religious zealotry.  huge difference in what they want and what they might do.

Oh I agree, they are by far more dangerous than N. Korea.  They kill because the religion tells them they must eliminate the 'infidels" and to be a good religious person they must do so.  Very spooky, very spooky indeed.  Time to stock up on more ammunition, good as money in the future.

Edit:  Oh, and let us not forget that lying to 'infidels' is okey dokey in their belief system.

in this case, they are even worse.  they are 12ers.  they wait for the return of the Mahdi....or not, since he has apparently returned, the appearance of the Mahdi.
do some research.  it's some scary stuff going on over there.

Kathy religion plays a part but most of the mess going on with Iran right now is over a natural gas pipeline.  Haliburton is trying to build a pipeline through Afghanistan into Pakistan from the Caspian Sea.  Iran has a counter proposal in to build one from Iran to Pakistan.  In the end it's all political posturing to see who can puff out their chest the most.  We may go to war with Iran but if we do I suspect the reasons will be crony capitalism.  We get fed a lot of bull in this country about Iran but in the end it's all about the money for both sides.  Get the crony capitalism out of the way and I would be willing to bet we wouldn't be having this discussion.
