"Nay, it [this constitution of government] must perish, if there be not that vital spirit in the people, which alone can nourish, sustain, and direct all its movements. It is in vain, that statesmen shall form plans of government, in which the beauty and harmony of a republic shall be embodied in visible order, shall be built up on solid substructions, and adorned by every useful ornament, if the inhabitants suffer the silent power of time to dilapidate its walls, or crumble its massy supporters into dust; if the assaults from without are never resisted, and the rottenness and mining from within are never guarded against. Who can preserve the rights and liberties of the people, when they shall be abandoned by themselves? Who shall keep watch in the temple, when the watchmen sleep at their posts? Who shall call upon the people to redeem their possessions, and revive the republic, when their own hands have deliberately and corruptly surrendered them to the oppressor, and have built the prisons, or dug the graves of their own friends?

I see you can keep male and female crab's. Look's like a fun time if you make it out west I'll take you crabing and claming and maybe some bottom fishing.

I thought of you when I posted this thread Irwin. Good to see you around buddy. Yes, you can keep both sexes as long as the female is not in berry.

Look at the last picture in this link: http://www.tpwd.state.tx.us/huntwild/wild/species/bluecrab/

This female is in berry, meaning she is carrying eggs. You have to let them go then by law.

BTW, my wife and I enjoyed more crabs, onions, garlic, sausage, and red potatoes during the Saints game against Carolina. That was a close one!

Picture 12 looks like the crab is looking right at the camera. Kind of reminds me of the crabs on the pipe in the movie Finding Nemo.

They must reproduce faster then the dungenes crab it take 5 years for a dungenes crab to become legal on the Oregon coast. One year they let people keep female crab and almost wiped them out.

I'm not sure Irwin, it could be quite a few different factors. The Dungies definitely get bigger and our waters don't get anywhere near as cold as y'all's do. I imagine the water temps have a lot to do with it.
