Pretty much. Your seasoning goes into the water, you let it come to a boil, add your seafood, let it come to a rolling boil and cook appropriately, then let them soak in the flavor. For crabs I like to boil them around eight minutes and let them soak for about twenty. The other stuff like onion, garlic, sausage, corn, potatoes... should be cooked separately with a light soaking or it will retain a lot of spice! ...JP

Ted, looks like we're going again this Saturday, Bailey & Schawee for certain. I may be included in this trip or not depending on whether Bailey filled my spot or not. He originally asked me to go but I wasn't certain what time the LSU game was. I was thinking it was at noon but now I see its at 7pm.
If we do as well as last time perhaps we could meet up and I'll be more than happy to hook you up with some. You in Denham Springs now, I forget?

Some of my fondest childhood memories are crabbing off mt Uncle Johns dock in Bayou Caddy MS. My cousins and I also have a tradition of going crabbing after any family wedding in New Orleans in Lake Pontchartrain. We call it "The Tastiest Catch".
Most people think it is the boiling water that kills them but actually it's the lemons. If you listen very carefully you can hear them scream when you put them in the pot, "Oh no not the lemons". You gotta listen close.

Man that reminds me of Crabbing with my parents in the Chesapeake bay when i was a kid. We would say up for 48 hours straight catching them from the piers. go home and cook them sunday after church and have a ball. one or two would always fight and get out of the pot in the kitchen. then the fight was on with my mom with a pair of tongs. may wish i had videos of that I would have a 100,000 from AFV on TV.

Ok twt . Here you go.
Where did we catch them? In the water. Where did we launch? At the boat launch.
I won't ever give up that spot but I'll give you my second spot Go down to Galliano, launch at bessons launch like your going To supher mine to fish. Work the canals just south of the lake. Good crabbing there.
