Decisions, decisions..who will they decide to go to the National Championship? It SHOULD be the #1 and #2 teams. Makes sense to me, but with politics and favorites coming in to the equation, I'm not so sure. Ive already heard the arguments being made by commentators that they either didnt want to see a rematch of LSU and Alabama or that it wasnt fair to have two SEC teams in the National Championship. Come on give me a break. Is it the SEC's fault that two of their teams wound up as #1 & #2?

And so the votes were cast and its on to a rematch of # 1 ranked LSU and #2 ranked Alabama. Let the crying begin!

I’m not a fan of rematches from within the same conference, but in this case, I would concede these are the best two teams to play for the championship. Does anybody think we’ll live long enough to see a playoff system? Seems like there is just too much money in the bowl games for the schools to ever change. It’s probably also nice for half the schools to go away winners at the end of the season by winning some bowl game. Always nice to end a winner, even if it’s not for all the marbles. LSU by 14 this time

Well if they would switch around some stuff with the bowl games eventually you could see a playoff system but you could also keep the bowl games. You would just have to rotate from year to year the lesser bowl games to where they get a better matchup each year. Not a big fan of watching another low scoring game between these two but I guess we shall see and without a playoff system we shall never know truely who should be number 1 at the end of the year.

This yea, the calls for a playoff system seems to be louder than years prior-I wouldnt be surprised if one is coming, but as already said, it all boils down to the $$$.

The good news...... the weirder and more lopsided the match-ups the closer we get to a playoff system.
The bad news....... the SEC BCS record will slide to 8-1 and no longer be undefeated in BCS championship games.

My prediction is another game where LSU gets behind in points but makes up for it in the last quarter. I believe more points will be put up this time but not many more. I'm thinking something like 21-17 Tigers.

...you left something out, I get ahead of myself sometimes typing, too. Here, I've corrected it for you...it should correctly read: "I'm thinking something like Tide 21-17 Tigers." ROLL TIDE!!!!!

What happens in the unlikely event that Swamp is right? A close game where the Tide win this time? Who gets crowned number 1 by the BCS computers? In such a case, both teams end with one loss to each other. Who is really better? Should they share the championship in that case?

The trouble with you Volunteer fans is that when the situation demands it, you aren't prepaired to take matters into your own hands.
For instance when Mike DuBose proved to not be the inspirational coach Bama fans wanted, poor old DuBose came home from a weekend trip to find all his furniture sitting in a moving van. Say what you will, but Tide fans do know how to send a message.
