i have been watching this and really like it.  it's kind of like an alien version of Jericho.  check it out on TNT and you can catch the back episodes.

"Nay, it [this constitution of government] must perish, if there be not that vital spirit in the people, which alone can nourish, sustain, and direct all its movements. It is in vain, that statesmen shall form plans of government, in which the beauty and harmony of a republic shall be embodied in visible order, shall be built up on solid substructions, and adorned by every useful ornament, if the inhabitants suffer the silent power of time to dilapidate its walls, or crumble its massy supporters into dust; if the assaults from without are never resisted, and the rottenness and mining from within are never guarded against. Who can preserve the rights and liberties of the people, when they shall be abandoned by themselves? Who shall keep watch in the temple, when the watchmen sleep at their posts? Who shall call upon the people to redeem their possessions, and revive the republic, when their own hands have deliberately and corruptly surrendered them to the oppressor, and have built the prisons, or dug the graves of their own friends?

Been watching this too - funny the Jericho connection, that was exactly how I explained it to a coworker not even an hour ago.

Leave it up to a guy named Clayton to be a bad guy  grin

Pope is an interesting character, I like him in this - he adds balance in a messed up world.

I like how the Alien Ships, which we haven't really got a tour of yet, have planted themselves as if docked or moored, unlike the mother ship in District 9. The "Grounding" of the alien ships adds a feel of domination.

I think this may make it a few seasons without jumping the shark too badly. And who knows, they may only be miles from the next BIG resistance, so as said in Galaxy Quest "Never give up... Never surrender!"

P.S. About Galaxy Quest, if you never saw this Tim Allen and Sigourney Weaver movie, watch it - it is one of the best Startrek parody kind of movie you'll ever catch - funny and lands on my top ten list Smiley
