Ooooh come on Michael we all know it was tolet paper.  Most of us have probably been out and had to use alternatives in the woods.  Give me a roll of Angel Soft any day over transistors.   evil

Have to admit though met some really great people through this thing they call a computer and it wouldn't be the case without them though.   grin

Didn’t they used to write computer code on toilet paper?  Oh no, that was punch cards……

Actually the transistor, IC, and micro can’t do squat without software.  Maybe the greatest invention was micro-code, assembler, C, and now object orientated languages.

OK.  I'll give you toilet paper as the greatest invention... but basic tools would probably come next.

i have!!!!  we stopped in a service station in england.  when i went to use the bathroom, i discovered that it was nasty dirty, and out of TP.  as i was going back to the car to get wipes (always travel with them!) i met a lady coming into the facilities. i told her about the conditions.   she had her own wipes.  as we did our business in our stalls, we struck up a lovely conversation through the divider about where we were from, her relatives in the US, etc.

if not for the lack of TP we might not have spoken  grin

Such a conversation in a men's room would make me very uncomfortable...

that's because you don't have dividers.
