Hello From Saugerties, NY!

Hello!
My name is Kris and I recently discovered this forum. I have been beekeeping for a few years now with just a few colonies in my backyard. I started out when I was probably 14 or 15 years old and I am 26 now. My first hive was a softball sized swarm that landed in my parents shed. Not knowing anything about beekeeping and having no beekeeping tools, my colony did not survive the winter. It took me until I was 23 to get another colony and start doing it the right way! (I use langs and 1 top bar hive now) When I am not tending to the bees, I spend my time pursuing a masters degree for teaching history in high school and practicing falconry.
I look forward to being a part of the forum!
Kris
